Long Island Rowing Moves to Fleets Cove Beach |
|||||||
|
Effective immediately and until further notice Long Island Rowing Club will be operating all rowing programs from Fleets Cove Beach in Centerport, New York. Suffolk County Department of Parks is performing badly needed renovations to the Coindre Hall mansion boathouse. For the safety of our crews during construction it was necessary for LI rowing and the other rowing programs operating out of the boathouse to vacate the building and move to temporary quarters. The Town of Huntington has graciously assisted us in relocating and setting up our equipment and boats in the parking lot of Fleets Cove Beach. They have cordoned off and permitted us to fence an appropriate area where each rowing program will store equipment and operate out of 40-foot containers. We thank all the residents of Centerport and the Town of Huntington who have welcomed Sagamore Rowing Association, Long Island Rowing Club and Hunting High School Rowing into their community. We are grateful for your support of High School and adult rowing on Long Island. Al Lozito - President Long Island Rowing
