About Our Club

Long Island Rowing Club

Long Island Rowing Club was incorporated as Half Hollow Hills Crew Club in 1999.  Over the years, HHH Crew evolved into a public program drawing athletes from middle and high schools across Suffolk County, Long Island. As the demographic of the membership grew more diverse, in 2009 the name of the club was changed to Long Island Rowing.

LI Rowing is a volunteer driven, not-for-profit organization offering training and competitive rowing its membership.

Our mission is to promote the sport of rowing on Long Island, while preparing students who desire, for the experience of rowing on a collegiate level. We pursue this mission with the full support and cooperation of the Sagamore Rowing Association and as members of the US Rowing Association.

LI Rowing offers 4-training seasons.  Our spring and fall seasons involve training on-water in single, 2,4 and 8 person racing shells as well as dry-land training to improve overall strength and conditioning.  Members train up to 6-days per week.

Our summer season takes advantage of a full day and offers either morning, afternoon or full day programs for a single week - up to 10-weeks.  During the winter when weather forces us off the water, you can join our 'Indoor Conditioning Program' at a local gym, where we train and hone our skills on rowing machines.  During all four seasons our athletes enjoy learning from some of the finest crew coaches and trainers in the country.
